Getting Ready

Cindy and I are making ready to leave Georgia on May 15th and head west and north west for an extended trip to see our great nation.  Last year (2015) we went to the northeast to visit Vermont, New Hampshire, Maine, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Virginia and the Outer Banks of North Carolina.  That was a fun trip and we saw a lot of exciting things and places along the way.  We traveled in the fall ( from September to November) and the leaves were beautiful in most of the states we visited.

This year we are headed out west where Cindy has never been before and we are excited to be able to stay for an extended period of time and not be rushed.  We start the trip in Branson, MO where we will spend two days catching shows from SIX and an Eagles tribute group.  From Branson we will travel to Wichita, KS for a couple days (Cowtown, an outdoors museum) and then on to Goodall, KS before arriving at Estes Park, CO to see our sister-in-law, who moved there last year.  We will spend about ten days with her before moving on to the Grand Tetons, which I am excited about, having never been there before.  We will then head to the west side of Yellowstone National Park to see all the sites within the park before going to Glacier National Park.  Also, never been here before either having missed that route when riding my motorcycle out west several years ago.  From here we go to Cody, WY to see the William Cody (Buffalo Bill) museum and the Irma Hotel and Bar.  Looking forward to seeing this again having seen it once before on the motorcycle trip, but Cindy has never been there so that should be an interesting trip.  In case you do not know there are enough guns in this place to give one to everyone who lives in the neighboring states and still have some left over.  Cindy will go nuts!!!

From Cody, WY we will travel to the Little Big Horn Park, then to Devils Tower and end up in Custer, SD for a month.  The plan is for Bobby and Ashley (our son and daughter) to  meet us there and stay for a few days.  Bobby will be staying with Ashley for the first part of  our trip but at the end of the trip Ashley has a lot of work she will be doing (working about 12 to 16 hours days)  and cannot look after him.  So, she will fly with Bobby to Rapid City, SD and drive to Custer, SD to meet us.

From Custer, SD we head to Nebraska to Scott's Bluff and Chimney Rock for a few days.  I am not sure at this writing where we will go after Nebraska, but I think we will head to Iowa for a few days before heading home.  Maybe a stop in Kentucky before reaching Georgia but that is up in the air at this time.

This trip maybe something like the movie "RV" but I am not going to let them see me sweat!!!
